"Thanks for a really cosy Barn. We had a great weekend. The lounge was especially homely with a roaring fire and candles thanks to the powercut that affected the whole village!"

"A prescription for good health. A weekend with congenial company at Courtyard Barn. Weather better than forecast, accommodation exceeded our expectations. Walks magnificent - even though the river path flooded up to our thighs! Many thanks to Angela and Linda for feeding us so well."

'Pill Pushers' (doctors!) from Coventry

"A perfect place - we played, worked, walked and visited factory outlets and mills and caverns and various watering holes - your Barn is lovely warm and cosy and spacious. Thank you so much."

"Being able to share a beautiful meal around the one table - all 14 of us - made a fabulous weekend all the more special. A wonderful place to spend with friends. Thanks"

"We survived all the 'hardships' of luxury, comfort and warmth AND the house is big enough to play 'Kippers'!"

Families Bough, Gaines, and Whitley

"Who needs Safeways? The local shops have everything you might need and the people (in the bakers, butchers and the florists in particular) have been so helpful ...Our week has been a memorable one. Some great experiences for our boys (cycling along green lanes, careering down rocky tracks, exploring the local countryside, swimming in the gem of an openair pool at Hathersage. A brilliant holiday in a lovely venue. This house has been such a pleasant place for our extended family to all meet up. It's been brilliant to be able to spend a week together under one roof in such comfortable surroundings and to finish it all with a celebratory meal cooked by Angela and Linda (thank you both). I'm sure mum and dad will remember their 50th wedding anniversary with great pleasure. The only drawback is: WE DON'T WANT TO LEAVE!"

"Who lives in a house like this? It should be me! Fantastic house and fantastic weekend. Thanks for a great stay."

Helen, from 'Helen's Hen Night'

"Couldn't have asked for a better location - the house is fantastic and more thoroughly equipped than my own. I'd love to come back in the snow and get the full benefit of the underfloor heating... Thanks for everything"

Vicky 'Helen's Hen Night'

"FANTASTIC! Lived up to all expectations. Does it get any better than this? How can it? We had a splendid time. Drank lots. Ate lots. Partied lots and wore some silly hats. No one was ill!! Nice walks in snow. Good beer in good pubs - particularly the Red Lion in Litton. HAPPY NEW YEAR"

The Knight family

"I've just celebrated my 30th Birthday with my pals in Courtyard Barn. What a perfect party pad! Walks in the beautiful countryside on Saturday, fancy dress champagne reception on the patio, dinner for 24 - fantastic food cooked by Angela and Linda. (Thank you girls, it was georgous - a comment made by everyone.) It was a fantastic birthday party - I wouldn't plan it differently if I did it again. Thank you Marcus and Angela for being so accommodating with my plans."

Daren Oldham and Anne Grimes + Daniel, Stephanie, Ryan, Jasmin, Paula, Toni, Natalie, Macca & Jessie

"...Your lovely property exceeded everyone's expectations ... we did parts of the Monsal Trail and had a wonderful time at the Otter Sanctuary, visited caves at Castleton and plenty of retail therapy in Buxton ... The showers are wonderful and the house is lovely and warm. The surround-sound TV was much appreciated by the children, less so for those of us whose turn it was for a lie-in! (we finally figured how to turn it off!) ... Ten out of Ten for Courtyard Barn and Tideswell, we hope to return early next year and will be in touch nearer the time."

Sue Whelan & family

"I was lucky enough to visit Courtyard Barn in February 2001 and it's fabulous! Interally, it's superb, with an amazing feeling of light and space. The layout is very flexible and I can see it appealing to both families and groups of friends. We had some wonderful weather (bright sunny days!) which made me yearn for summer - I can't wait to return. I fell in love with the village when I discovered that the Co-op is one of the only places in England that sells my favourite crisps."
